How to ship your package once you have a label

You have already done the hard part - you compared rates and bought a label. From here, getting your package on its way is three short steps.

1. Print the label

Your label was emailed to you and is ready to print from the receipt screen. Any home or office printer works - a plain 8.5 x 11 sheet is fine, you do not need special label paper or a thermal printer.

No printer handy? Many libraries, shipping stores, and print shops will print a PDF for a small fee. Some carrier counters can scan the QR code on your emailed label and print it for you.

2. Attach it to your package

Cut out the label and tape it flat to the largest side of your box, away from seams and edges so it does not fold or catch. Cover the whole label with clear packing tape - never tape over the barcode with anything that distorts it - so it survives rain and handling.

Reusing a box? Cover or remove any old shipping labels and barcodes. A leftover barcode can send your package to the wrong place.

3. Drop it off

Take the package to the right carrier for your label:

• USPS: any blue collection box (for small parcels), your local Post Office, or hand it to your mail carrier. You can also schedule a free next-day pickup at usps.com.
• UPS: any UPS Store or drop box, or schedule a pickup.
• FedEx: any FedEx Office or drop box, or schedule a pickup.
