No prepaid return label? Here's how to ship a return from home in a few minutes.

Before you ship

Check the retailer's return policy for the return address (often different from their main address), whether you need an RMA number (write it on the box if so), the return deadline (usually 30 days), and who pays for return shipping.

Pack it up

Use the original packaging if you have it. Otherwise any sturdy box works. Remove or cover old shipping labels from the original delivery so the carrier doesn't scan the wrong barcode.

Get a return label

Most returns are lighter than you think. A pair of shoes in a shoebox is 2-3 lbs. A clothing return in a poly mailer is under 1 lb.

Drop off and keep proof

Drop off at the carrier location matching your label. Save your tracking number and take a photo of the labeled package before drop-off.
